Special Ingredient Saturday – Green Beans

August 6, 2016 by Dr Cathy Leave a Comment

rp_green-beans-150x150.jpgGreen beans aren’t typically thought of as great pet food.  But, maybe they should be.

Green beans are rich in B vitamins, shown to have impressive antioxidant qualities, and are also a good source of beta-carotenes (just like carrots). Green beans have recently been shown to provide a good source of absorbable silicon (mineral silicon), which is important for bone health and healthy connective tissues.

So, go ahead. Make some of these beautiful beans for yourself and then, sneak a few to your dog.
